Recently I took my car to our local filling station for fuel. I looked carefully at the pump, the prices and fuel grades, looking for the cheapest option.
Having decided I started to put fuel in. When the pump gauge showed ten litres something clicked and made me look at the fuel pump hose……..it was green!
Yep I had put ten litres of petrol in my diesel car, oh joy. I wonder how many of you have done similar or at least know someone who has?
Anyway, my immediate thought was to avoid starting it and causing serious and costly damage to the engine. So I called the manufacturer for help and recovery. They quickly told me they could recover and take it to the nearest dealer, but they couldn’t collect for at least an hour, oh joy.
So I called my dealer for help, if I arranged collection and delivery they told me, they would drain the tank and sort it. £200 the man said! No thanks, said I.
Then I had a light bulb moment, called a mate a mile or so from where I was with my stranded vehicle. He said he could help and it should be ok to drive the car that short distance without damaging the engine, brilliant.
So off we go. Next step, back seat out, fuel tank opened and pumped out. I’m sent to another fuel station for ten quids worth of diesel. Bingo back on track, oh and as it’s a mate no charge!
You know that just like the vehicle you drive or some machine you may know there are certain requirements for peak performance.
For the life the vehicle which you live in, your body, this physical machine, the most complex machine we know of, has special requirements for peak performance and continued healthy life.
Putting the wrong fuel in may have very damaging consequences.
You know you can always replace your car, there is no replacement for the magnificent and precious vehicle we travel this life in, your body and it requires certain attention, maintenance and fuel, just like your car to ensure it runs smoothly and keeps you safe.
Now I know, unlike me, you wouldn’t put diesel fuel in your car if it has a petrol engine because that would cause harm and danger.
If you’re overweight that’s what you have been doing to your body, feeding it the wrong fuel potentially causing harm and danger.
So start treating your body like a complex, well oiled, well maintained vehicle.
